Dimensions of Wellness

What’s up Wellness Warriors? I’ve got another round up of awesome for you today. As usual, there isn’t anything sponsored here, just some things that have caught my eye over the past few months or that I am otherwise enjoying.

First up, this article. I’m sure many of us have put off unnecessary trips to our primary cares in light of Covid concerns. But regular check ups are a huge part of preventative care. And if you are concerned with treatment, don’t be afraid to speak up and advocate for yourself.

This video popped up on my YouTube suggestions and I am super glad I clicked on it. Mental health is something that doesn’t discriminate. Anyone can find themselves struggling with depression or anxiety and the more people step forward to share their stories and advocate, the better in my opinion.

I believe that the fitness and exercise landscape is going to undergo a shift post-pandemic. Those of us who were regular gym goers have had to pivot our routines, especially strength training. And I think some of those changes to at-home routines will be sticking around. They provide convenience that many of us need.

Hopefully the resources that I am able to provide here on MMW will be part of that equation. But for those of you still on the fence about the benefits of home based workouts, the science backs me up!

Resistance bands are a space efficient, low cost, easily accessible alternative to dumbbells and free weights. And they can offer the same benefits in terms of exercise and muscle building.

And if I’ve said it once I’ve said it a billion times. Walking is hands down one of the absolute best things you can do for your health. Regardless of what your specific fitness or exercise goals might be.

In case you need more resources to help with your home workouts, there are some new goodies in the Wellness Toolbox! Namely my Playing Card Workout Guide, How To Build a Circuit Guide, and How to Calculate Heart Rate Zones Guide.

Spring is my favorite season. There is something about watching the world come alive again. And for me, being able to put the dreariness and indoor activities of winter behind. This year more than most, I am looking forward to this change of season.

And… Happy Birthday Mental Muscle Wellness! This month, my little corner of the internet turned 3. Three years of writing and researching and editing and taking super corny pics. I hope you have enjoyed this space as much as I have and I can’t wait to share some more awesome content with you!

Be well, friends!
