Hello Warriors! Happy Thanksgiving to my US based readers. As it is a holiday week for us, and the unofficial start of gift buying season, I’ve got another Links and Loves for you.
As usual with these, nothing is sponsored, just some things that have caught my eye over the past few months and I feel the need to pass along.
Body confidence is important for all of us. But if you are a parent of young-ish kids right now, the chances that you grew up without appearance based comments and judgement is slim. So how do you teach your kids? This article has some great ideas for those needing a place to start.
Diets are a ubiquitous part of the culture (and a ubiquitous part of New Year’s resolutions). Here is a handy, and fairly in depth, article on spotting diet red flags.
Did you know that the US has a new number to call for emergency mental health help? It rolled out this past summer, and wow is this overdue. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis and need immediate help, you can dial 988 from anywhere in the US and be connected with professionals. This article has more info.
And sticking with other Dimensions of Wellness, here is a great article about Financial Health. Our Financial Health often has more to do with our beliefs towards money and identifying our individual pitfalls. This article offers some great general tips.
As I mentioned, it’s Thanksgiving week here in the States and if you are still looking for some sides, you can check out my stuffing recipe here or my sweet potato recipe here.
This year I am thankful for a healthy family. As my husband and I get older there are many more requisite check ups and preventative screenings, and luckily, we have passed so far. The kiddo is also growing and learning which has been fun to watch.
I am thankful for my neighbors. I’ve said it before, but our neighborhood is awesome and it is down to the wonderful people who create a great community.
I am thankful for a back to business start to school. For all three of us. Being educators and having a child start school in the middle of a pandemic has been a special kind of stress and, at least so far, this year has been much more normal.
I am super happy, like do a jig happy, to be back in the gym. I love home workouts and they have served me well, but it has been amazing to have a full range of weights and equipment to pick and choose from again.
And I am grateful for you, Warrior, for spending a few minutes of your week reading my rambles. Until next time, be well!
