Mental Muscle Wellness

Meet Melissa

Hello! My name is Melissa and I’d like to welcome you to my little corner of the internet, Melissa Moves Well formerly Mental Muscle Wellness. I am a personal trainer, group exercise instructor, yoga instructor, wellness coach, and teacher with over two decades of experience. I am passionate about the role movement plays not just in Physical Health but in whole person wellness.

My career has been diverse and while there are many out there who specialize and are amazing coaches on a small handful of topics, I am an unapologetic jack-of-all-trades. Over many years of working with a diverse mix of clients and students, I have noticed several things. Many individuals focus on immediate goals and forget that their body must serve them for years to come. Clients may understand what they should be doing and how to do it, but they typically don’t know why they are doing something. And lastly, many people assume they are healthy as long as their physical body is okay.

These observations have shaped what I share here on Melissa Moves Well. Exercise and movement should always support longevity. Understanding why an exercise is done is equally important as how to do it. Whole person wellness comprises much more than simply the lack of illness or injury of the physical body. Here, I share my knowledge, thoughts, musings, and sometimes ramblings on all things exercise. In addition to planning and programming, exercise form primers, and fitness tips, I also write about movement’s role in Mental Health and overall wellness.

My credentials are available below. Please keep in mind that while I share science based information, it is not intended to serve as a personal plan for any one individual, only as a guideline. The information on Melissa Moves Well is also intended for apparently healthy individuals. Be safe and speak to a doctor or qualified exercise person in your area if you have any conditions, concerns, or limitations. And as always, you know your body best, listen to it.

So welcome, stay and browse awhile, and if you have comments or questions feel free to email me!

Melissa
