I Am Thankful

November 21, 2018

In the true spirit of Thanksgiving, and wellness, I wanted to take a minute and pause to reflect on the things I am grateful for this year.

I am thankful for my physical health. Every year the calendar adds to my life I am more and more grateful for this one. Up through now, my body moves and works the way it is supposed to and that is a huge blessing. In this vein, I am thankful for the health of my family this year. It has been a lucky year and I am hoping that next year continues that trend.

I am thankful for the ability to have and cook nutritious food. I love to cook and research recipes, which is also something I want to share more with you guys. Many families aren’t as fortunate, so shameless plug, pick up some extra non-perishables while you are shopping and donate to a food kitchen in your area.

I am thankful for good friends to create memories with. Because friends are really the family you get to choose.

I am thankful for beautiful sunsets. Something about the calm and the swirl of colors that happens at sunset can turn even a bad day around for me.

I am thankful for my sneakers. I love sneakers like most women love pretty heels. Barely a day goes by that I don’t wear them and I pack outfits around them when I travel.

I am thankful for every opportunity that this year presented. Personally, there were some biggies and, unlike years past, I feel that I was able to make the most of them.

I am thankful for dark chocolate. I don’t think this one really needs elaboration.

I am thankful for a holiday whose sole purpose is to celebrate one of my favorite foods: sweet potatoes. You can argue turkey, stuffing, or real potatoes all you want. Sweet potatoes are where it’s at.

I am thankful for my husband and son. They make my life maddening and sublime by turns. But they are both why I do what I do and why I am who I am.

And, I am grateful to all of you out there in internetland reading this. Thank you for spending a bit of your time with me.

Happy Thanksgiving Friends!
